4. Modern Family

One of my favorite series. This is a family drama and the episodes are 21-22 minutes long. Modern family is yet another American mockumentary family TV show.

Modern Family is the creation of Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan. It was created by the American Broadcasting Company. It started on 23rd September 2009 and it ran for 11 seasons. Although it was about to have 10 seasons it extended till the 11th season to finish the unfinished business and make a perfect ending.

This series revolves around 3 family and their patriarch. It was continuously popular throughout the whole show while it aired. It was nominated for Emmy Awards 75 times of which 22 times they won. It’s such an outstanding series and is very close to my heart.

The importance of family and how the family pulls each other back when in distress sets quite an example for the people out there. It also lightens the air around the LGBTQ community by showing a same-sex family among the 3 families.

The three families live in Los Angelos and their homes are close to one another. Patriarch Jay(Ed O’Neil) is the father of Claire(Julie Bowen) who is a homemaker and Mitchell(Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who is a lawyer by profession.

1. Friends

Who hasn’t heard of FRIENDS? I think most of us have heard of it. Some might consider it overrated but it’s not. Friends have connected with people from across the world on the same emotional wavelength.

It is popular among the youth even after years of release. The pilot of Friends was first aired on September 22, 1994. It lasted for ten seasons and the finale was released o May 6, 2004.

The show itself was very ahead of time and of which people now can relate to it. It also shows a lesbian couple one of which was the wife of Ross. Friends revolve around the lives of 6 friends- Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Chandler Bing (Mathew Perry), Ross Geller, (David Schwimmer) Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), and Pheobe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow).

How they grow and how their lives are revolving around each other are shown in the series. They have a lot of Birthdays, Marriages, Divorces, Love Interests, and Children throughout the show but they stick to one another. It’s rated 8.9/10 in the IMDb ratings which shows how the audience loves this series.

Although I have mentioned only 7 sitcoms there is so much out there that you can watch. While passing the free weekend time, we are mentally very challenged, and watching light comedy series or sitcoms will lighten and brighten our mood. Happy Binging!
